Effective
01 August 2006 in line with the United Kingdom Department of
Transport IATA guidelines, and the implementation of these
guidelines at Heathrow, hand baggage must have a maximum length
of 56cm (22in), width of 45cm (18in) and depth of 25cm (10in)
and a weight of 8kg. These dimensions include wheels, handles,
side pockets, etc. If your hand baggage exceeds the IATA
standard size, you will be asked to return to check-in and check
the bag into the hold.

Tips for Travel From/Within The United States
Carry-On
Allowance
Passengers traveling within the United States* may bring through the
security checkpoint travel-size toiletries (3-ounce container or
smaller) that fit in one, quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag
(see an example at right). The bag must be completely closed/sealed
and must be submitted for inspection separately from other carry-on
baggage.
Examples of allowed
toiletries include the following:

Additionally,
travelers may bring onboard the aircraft duty free purchases,
beverages and other items purchased in the secure area of the
terminal.
